  InterCity

InterCity trains are regular domestic trains with stops in major cities and tourist areas.    The EC trains are furnished to first-class standards throughout, and you can enjoy (service to your compartment) in each car.

Expanded trains on the EC and IC lines on long-distance routes.

To make your trip as enjoyable as possible, Austrian Railways offer you dining cars in 60 international and selected top trains, all managed by a partner company, Trainristo.    In more than 60 trains, they provide cabin-to-cabin refreshment service, serving passengers an attractive selection of drinks and snacks.

As a special service for female passengers travelling alone, Austrian Railways have set up a women's section in a fleet of trains, ensuring completely undisturbed travel for women.    These sections include six seats in the no-smoking compartment, and six beds in the sleeping cars of the night trains.  These are closely monitored by train personnel and can only be used by women.  Reservations may be made up to three months in advance.O
