When Good Cyclists Make Bad Choices

In 1996 Beryl (Bunni) Zimberoff, then 55, rode the Southern Cross from San Diego, California to Fort Lauderdale, Florida. This 3000 mile adventure is cronicled on Armchair World as Ocean to Ocean on Two Wheels. In 1997 she planned a shorter 1000 mile trip over the Blue Ridge Parkway, a crossing of Tennessee to Nashville, a transit of the Natchez Trace Parkway to Nanchez and then to New Orleans. The trip went anything but smoothly. The Clint Eastwoodism about limitations comes to mind. Also, learning experiences can sometimes be learning experiences.
